Dare you sacrifice your very being for the chance to become something far greater than before?

Economy Fixes is my attempt to address some of the issues that bother me most about the Morrowind Economy system. At low levels there is no real proble, but later on it becomes very clear that there are a huge number of things wrong with the Morrowind Economy, essentially boiling down to two simple points:

  • The player can easily obtain huge amounts of money/valuable items
  • The player has little or nothing worth spending any of this money on.

My Economy fixes mod addresses some of the causes of the above two issues, and consists of two .esp's which can be used individually or as a pair.

This is a complete overhaul of a large number of Morrowind's levelled item lists. The changes here will specifically affect outlaw caves, tombs, etc - the sources of much of the 'Levelled Loot' in Morrowind. The essential problem here is that Morrowind was designed with an upper limit of level 20 in mind. As such, the best type's of loot begin to appear from level 15 onwards. From this point on (and likely much before) the player will simply never have to worry about money again. The solution? Read on...

  • Levelled items now appear at roughly 2.5* higher levels than before. Whereas previously, you would recieve the best possible items in most cases at levels 15-20, this now occurs at level 40-50. Accordingly, you don't find yourself overloaded at level 15-20 with too much loot and little to strive for.
  • Additionally, most common items are now at least 50% rarer (random clothing, items, amulets, etc). This rises to about 80-90% rarer for higher level items - deadric weaponry, gemstones, skooma, etc.
  • No longer will you wander into an outlaw cave at level 18, and leave with dozens of grand soulgems, exclusive potions, and sackfuls of 'rare' gemstones.

A much simpler mod that simply adjusts some of the game settings - travel costs, repair costs, trainign costs, etc

Note: Since I alter many of the levelled item lists in the game, the first of these .esp's will conflict with any other mod that also adjusts the levelled lists. Personally, I try to avoid using mods that do this anyway. However, if there is enough demand for it, I'll create a version of my levelled lists esp that includes items added by other major mods.
